The Ice Cream Kidnapper
The Ice Cream Kidnapper is a game about kidnapping... ice cream!
Watch out for the cops! If they spot a kid sobbing, they will be out on the hunt. Lay low for a while, and you will be fine, you malevolent criminal!
Do it quick! The kids won't come outside when it's dark and you won't get as many ice creams.
Keys
AWSD - Move
Spacebar - Brake
E - Get *your* ice cream from the kids once you get close enough
ESC - Toggle restart menu

Hello! I wanna tell you some issues from my Pov. The game get's boring kinda quick, no sound effects(like when you steal ice cream there should be some sound and particle, same with when you get caught my the police, maybe not particle at police but some screen shake or something to make it feel more alive) to keep the player there, no music/ambience, no Visual/particle effects, also the background(trees and bushes are kinda repetive placed anda it looks kinda fake). I got to 6 ice creams and then kinda got bored, so that's my advice add sound effects and particles! anyways nice game idea just not finished, have a good day and keep going!
All true! I think I should have gone with a simpler setup to make the game more accessible and fun, allowing me to have more time to polish aspects like sound effects and particles.
The game even has some depth. Each kid has their own house, and they 'cry' when the player steals their ice cream. If a cop passes by a crying kid, they will start looking for a suspect for a while and then stop. I believed that incorporating all of this would introduce a strategic element to the game, requiring the player to sneak around. However, there's no indication of none of that happening in the game whatsoever.
Anyway, thank you for your detailed feedback :)
oh wow when I played I didn't even notice all of those things! I just kinda got caught by stealing when a cop was near :)
oh also I really love that you made it availabe to play directly from google, that's always a great feature to have for game jams
